About Us

D Wood Finishes is run by myself Daniel Wood. I spent the early years of my career training as a Stone Mason working on some incredible projects with some very rewarding outcomes. After many years in the trade the opportunity for a change of career came up that I couldn’t turn down. It was the chance to train and work within the wood industry, I was to train in wood finishing. Both my grandfather and my great grandfather were master cabinet makers, making this an easy decision to make.

I spent many years training picking up NVQ’s in both spray and hand finishing, I also trained in machining timber and the basics of cabinetry, the whole time creating an even sharper eye for detail. I ran the finishing shop within a top bespoke joinery company before taking a big step to head out on my own.

D Wood Finishes work consists of Wood Finishing and Decorating. Offering hand and spray finishes. I have a real passion for perfection and nothing gives me greater pleasure than seeing a smile on my customers face after achieving the finish they envisaged.

I've had the pleasure of working on some great projects myself over the years, including full kitchen fits and crafting my very own bespoke painted furniture from design to finish. I have also taken on larger projects including wood floor insulation and tiling.
